What is the A1/A3 + A2 Pack?

If you are starting from scratch and want to reach the highest level of the open category, this pack is the smartest option. You take both licenses progressively with a single enrolment: first the A1/A3 and, once you have it, the A2.

By the end you will hold:

  • A1/A3 license: to fly drones of up to 25 kg in the open category
  • A2 license: to fly drones of up to 4 kg in environments where people are present

Both certificates are official, recognised by AESA and valid throughout the European Union.

A1/A3 license

  • Online exam on the AESA platform (40 questions, 75% to pass).

A2 license

  • Basic meteorology, drone performance, safety distances, risks in urban areas, airspace control, emergency management.
  • Online exam invigilated by webcam (30 questions, 75% to pass).
  • Practical self-training declaration included.

How does the process work?

  1. Online enrolment: A single registration gives you access to all the training.
  2. A1/A3 stage: Study and sit the online exam on the AESA platform. On passing, you obtain your first certificate.
  3. A2 stage: With the A1/A3 in hand, you access the advanced training and complete the practical self-training.
  4. A2 exam: Invigilated by webcam. On passing, you obtain your second certificate.
  5. Two official certificates: Ready to operate with full legal cover in the open category.

Requirements: be 16 years old and hold a digital certificate.

Can I take the A2 directly without the A1/A3?
No. The A1/A3 is a mandatory prerequisite. That is why the pack is designed to be taken progressively.

How long do I need to complete the pack?
The training is flexible and online. The only condition is that the A2 exam must be taken after passing the A1/A3.

Are both certificates valid across Europe?
Yes. Both are based on EASA regulations and are recognised in every country in the European Union.

Is the pack cheaper than booking the licenses separately?
Yes. The pack has a combined price that is better value than booking them independently.

What happens if I pass the A1/A3 but fail the A2?
The A1/A3 certificate is yours as soon as you pass it. You have two attempts at the A2, independently of the first exam.
